Where the Wind Goes
When I learned about your business and the background of this project, I felt the determination of your company to seize the hidden hints behind challenges, to embrace both opportunities and risks, and to transform an uncertain future into one full of possibilities.
I believe that walking forward with faith in possibilities requires courage and decisiveness even greater than one might expect. In attempting to capture and depict finance—something inherently difficult to materialize—the artist too must believe in the potential of the work, accept failure, and carry it forward into the next step.
For this reason, I chose not to set a predetermined goal for the work, but instead advanced my brushstroke as though in conversation with the canvas. While bearing the risk of not knowing where or whether I could declare the work complete, I found that by continuously seeking out the next step hidden within the canvas, the image gradually emerged, allowing me to proceed with growing confidence. With joy in becoming part of your company’s art culture, I created this work while hoping that the path you walk will lead toward a future where a symbiotic society of people supporting one another continues to flourish.
Although there are many cases where companies commission artists to produce works, I believe that the attempt to gather works over the years and hold exhibitions is truly rare. This art project, by commissioning artists, will serve as a catalyst for broadening the connections between artworks and people. I am deeply honored and delighted to have been able to participate in this project as one of the artists entrusted with its beginning.
